High Tide was a great tournament for TSUnami. After driving 15 hour straight throught the night from Springfield, MO, TSUnami ended up in Savannah, GA to be able to participate in the hat tournament on Monday. Tuesday begain the 4th day in a row of Ultimate play for the 11 ladies who went on to play during spring break as well. This is the first tournament where TSUnami was not faced with incredible winds and the weather was absolutely goregeous as compared to the snow they played in the Saturday before. TSUnami continued their undefeated streak since the Semis of Mardi Gras and ended up 11-0 for this tournament. After the championship as the TD handed TSUnami their trophy, he claimed how in Savannah with the high tides and the high winds they often worry about hurricanes, but this week a TSUnami came through! What a great cap to a great week where the ladies played 6 days of ultimate in a row including the hat tournament. But the best part was yet to come on the way back home, as they got a call from the TD of Centex who invited TSUnami to play in Austin the weekend of March 24-25. Way to go ladies! Your hard work is paying off!

Frostbite: 1st Place

Saturday Play 4-0
v. Oklahoma W: 9-2
v. SLU W:
v. WashU W: 8-5
v. Missouri State W: 9-3
Sunday Play 3-0
v. Arkansas W: 9-0
v. Mizzou W: 10-2
v. KU W: 9-2

Frostbite was a great way to kick-off 2007 spring break. Playing in the snow on Saturday with strong winds made game conditions rough. Sunday was a bit warmer but it was still a bit windy; yet TSUnami rolled through the weekend going undefeated playing Betty from KU in the championship match. The team was really excited to win the tournament and collect their team, as well as individual trophies.

Hendrix 2007: 1st Place

Saturday Play 0
Sunday Play 3-0
v. Arkansas W: 8-1
v. Illinois B W :10-1
v. Rhodes W: 9-4

Hendrix was quite the experience for TSUnami as they brought 6 brand new girls and it was the first tournament ever for 7 of the 12 ladies that went. All games on Saturday were cancelled due to thunderstorms, so being seeded first in the tournament improved the likelihood of playing in the championship bracket for Sunday play. Imagine that for your first tournament experience: no games on Saturday. That's almost unheard of un Ultimate.

Mardi Gras 2007: Semifinalist (3rd Place)

Saturday Play 4-0
v. Minnesota W: 13-1
v. Texas B W: 13-0
v. TCU W: 11-2
v. Tulane W: 8-5
Sunday Play 2-1
v. Notre Dame W: 13-2
v. Iowa W :12-8
v. Wisconsin L: 13-6

Mardi Gras 2007 was the first tournament of the Spring 2007 season. It was the first time TSUnami had played outdoors, but they managed to handle the windy conditions on Saturday and continued their strong play on Sunday after being down to three subs on Sunday. TSUnami won all games except for the Semi-final against Wisconsin, but putting up 6 points on Bella Donna who placed third at nationals last year was still considered a success.
